Former NBA player Chase Budinger is set to make his debut at the Olympics later this year though he wont be doing it on the hardwood.

Budinger a 6-foot-7 forward played eight seasons in the NBA with six different teams before retiring in 2016. He then began pursuing a career in beach volleyball and has quickly risen through the ranks.

Last month Budinger and his partner Casey Patterson won the AVP Hermosa Beach Open the first major beach volleyball tournament of the season.
