Wild Things’ McNeely Named Frontier League MVP

Washington Wild Things’ infielder Cory McNeely has been voted the Frontier League’s Most Valuable Player for the 2022 season.
The award was announced Monday morning by Frontier League commissioner, Kevin Winn. McNeely received 59 of a possible 89 first-place votes.
Stellar Season
The 27-year-old McNeely was one of the most consistent hitters in the Frontier League this season, batting .348 with a .449 on-base percentage and a .566 slugging percentage. He also led the league in hits (154), doubles (37), and total bases (252).
In addition to his offensive contributions, McNeely also played solid defense at second base, committing just six errors in 92 games.
Led Wild Things to Championship
McNeely’s performance helped lead the Wild Things to their second Frontier League championship in three years. Washington finished the regular season with a 64-36 record, then swept the Schaumburg Boomers in the first round of the playoffs before defeating the Florence Y’alls in the championship series.
McNeely was named the MVP of the championship series after batting .400 with two doubles, two home runs, and six RBIs in four games.
